Carla Ruíz Pérez is a founding partner of URA Urquiza Abogados, partner in the Mercantile Law Department, and also manager of the URA Urquiza Abogados office in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

She is specialised in operations related to mercantile advice to companies, with special emphasis on M&A, mercantile contracting, real estate law, tourism law and Secretary of boards of directors, among others.

She is a recurring consultant to top-level companies with presence in the Canary Islands, that operate in sectors such as tourism, healthcare, real estate, technology, agriculture, retail, management of large shopping centres, large-scale commercial distribution, procurement centralisation and family business.

Since 2012, she began to specialise in Mercantile Law, obtaining a collaboration grant at the Mercantile Law department of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through a competitive application procedure, which allowed her to collaborate in the research projects conducted by the faculty in the field of Mercantile Law, as well as to commence her own research in Mercantile Law matters.

In 2013, she began her professional career at the Mercantile Law department of the firm Garrigues.

Now, and since 2016, she has been a member of the Mercantile Law department of the law firm URA Urquiza Abogados.

In four consecutive years, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, she was recognised in the international Best Lawyer directory for her work in “Corporate and M&A”.

EDUCATION

Graduate in Law at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2008-2013) with an average A grade.

In 2012, she began her specialisation in Mercantile Law, obtaining a collaboration grant at the Mercantile Law department of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through a competitive application procedure, which allowed her to collaborate in the research projects conducted by the faculty in the field of Mercantile Law, as well as to commence her own research in Mercantile Law matters.

In 2013, she completed the specialisation course “Executive Course in Corporate Law” at the Garrigues Study Centre (2013-2014).
